A maestro exercising

The virtuoso beginning was the violinist Paganini who originated the “cult of the personality.” Then came Beatle Mania, Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead, etc; identifying with exhilarating fantasies of power!

…all of which brings to mind the sign in a Swiss restaurant = “Our wines leave you nothing to hope for.”

The dumbing down of culture is a serious matter. The government looks at cultural aspects in the following manner. We use as an example a symphony concert.

Fortunately, we have the “nouveau riche” sponsoring and donating “a little” to save culture.

The very best-liked piece by these bureaucrats is the BRONZE LULLABY, and they know that a harp is a nude piano. The normally clothed piano has moved out of the “salon and drawing rooms” to the cocktail bars and watering holes.

As in the days of prohibition, it is our responsibility to uphold morals -

So far we have managed to this extent.

Perhaps the reason for this “twist” is a lack of deeper penetration, as for example total misunderstanding of:

We are getting close to MANY “cliffs,” so maybe nothing matters!

“Albert, count!”

  1. Hi Mr.Staryk
I just wanted to say hello and wishing you all the best.My six year old son Sean has just started violin lessons. We’ll see what becomes of it…
I am the Second Associate Concertmaster now with the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony and because we’re looking for a #1 CM I end up sitting #2 most of the season.I truly am putting what you taught into practise since time for orchestra is so precious with a 6 and 3 year old to tend to.Practising is VERY focused when it occurs.
I hope all is well with you Mr.Staryk and I hope we’ll talk again soon.

    Best Wishes,

    Peter Carter
